Resignation: M&G Chairman Mike Evans
The chairman of investment giant M&G has resigned due to a stress-related illness.
Mike Evans, who is also the former chairman of Hargreaves Lansdown, took a break earlier this year. He’s now said he won’t be back. Evans, 59, said: “While I’m making good progress in my recovery, I don’t feel like I can return until the end of the year.
“I have therefore decided, in the best interests of the company and to ensure good governance, to resign.”
Senior Independent Director Fiona Clutterbuck, who has stepped in as Interim Chair, is leading the search for a replacement.
The shares in M & G rose by 2.3 percent.
Because of the poor results, customers pulled £ 13.2 billion more than last year, compared to £ 8.9 billion last year.
