- A German shepherd called “Happy” in China may not be as tough as it looks
- The dog had what appeared to be a frightening encounter with a crowd of barking corgis
- She tries to escape while relentlessly pursued by the pups
- Happy was naturally shy and has been trained to avoid aggression, her owner said
German Shepherds are usually known for their courage and protective instinct, but this one in China may not be as tough as it looks.
The three-year-old German Shepherd named “Happy” was filmed taking cover – while having a frightening encounter – with a crowd of corgi pups.
The footage shows the majestic dog looking shocked and nervous as she tried to run away from the barking pups as they chased her.
Ms. Wang, Happy’s owner and dog trainer, told MailOnline that her pet has a naturally shy personality and has learned not to be hostile to others.

The amusing scene was recently shown on Chinese news outlets after the pet owner shared the footage on Douyin, the Chinese equivalent of TikTok, in September last year.
Ms. Wang from Changzhou City, east China, said the incident happened while she was walking her German shepherd dog with her friends outside the residential area where she lived.
“We were waiting for a couple of friends outside of my complex,” she told MailOnline. “A bunch of corgis suddenly stormed out of a nearby pet store.”
The footage captured by Ms. Wang’s friend shows the dog on a leash trying to escape the army of pups when they followed her and yelped at her.
