The United States is the most technologically advanced nation when it comes to cyberspace – and at the same time perhaps the most vulnerable to cybersecurity interference. Suspected Russian software hacking by SolarWinds, a Texas-based IT management company, caused a “cyber virus” to infect the computer systems of more than 18,000 residential and government customers in the United States and abroad. Ted Koppel, senior correspondent for Sunday Morning, spoke to cybersecurity experts Richard Clarke and Keith Alexander, and New York Times journalist David Sanger, about the national security impact of the breach and the associated threats to critical infrastructure.
