One tourist was killed and four others remain trapped under giant icicles after shards of a 30-meter-long frozen waterfall collapsed at a Russian beauty spot.
Rescuers stormed to the remote Vilyuchinsky waterfall on the country’s Pacific coast Thursday after a group of seven people and their guide sank in ice.
Eyewitnesses pulled a “seriously wounded” child, also known as the Tsar’s Icicle, from the scene, among three other injured people who had been rescued – including a man and a woman.
In an accident today (Thursday), Orthodox Christmas Day in Russia, four were reported stranded under the crashed ice.
