The couple, locally known as Richard Addicott and Rita García Bolaños, died along with Ivan and Marta Bolaños, who were Rita’s father and sister.
The car is believed to have crashed from a road in bad weather between 9:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m. Tuesday before tumbling 245 feet off a cliff.
The scene wasn’t discovered until the following day when a highway worker noticed roadblocks were broken and discovered the wrecked car.

The group had visited Rita’s grandmother in Artenara on Tuesday before heading back to Las Palmas, where they lived.
On the way through fog and rain, the group didn’t make it until about 10 minutes after their 90-minute journey before the disaster struck, local newspaper La Nueva Espana reported.
The car left the road during a sharp right turn, hit crash barriers on the left side of the road, and then fell off a cliff.
The car turned several times as it fell down the steep bank.
The exact cause of the crash is still being investigated, but local authorities believe no other vehicle was involved.
It is not clear who was driving at the time of the accident.
The scene of the accident was not discovered until around 3:45 p.m. the following day, when a passing highway worker noticed damage to the guard rails.
