An elderly woman with dementia was fined £ 150 for breaking French coronavirus rules after setting the wrong date on paperwork to allow her to leave home.
A court ruled that despite living with the syndrome, she had to pay after her daughter appealed the original € 135 fine imposed during a police stop in April.
The 73-year-old woman was stopped in Luxeuil, eastern France, while trying to go to the supermarket about half a mile from her home.
When the police stopped her, there was no record of her speaking incoherently, reports France Bleu.
