Preston North End only secured their third home win of the season after beating Bristol City 1-0 in Deepdale.
In a hasty challenge against Scott Sinclair, Daniel Johnson moved from the penalty spot in the 21st minute to give Preston the lead. The lonely goal remained the determining factor in an otherwise tense affair.
The Lilywhites made the most of the early exchange and took the lead after Sinclair stumbled into the box from City defender Taylor Moore.
