Marcelo Bielsa’s surprising inclusion in the five-man shortlist for FIFA Men’s Coach of the Year has drawn the ire of some football fans on social media.
The Argentine was the eye-catching name on the five-man list but managed to lead Leeds United to the league title last season.
The 65-year-old isn’t the only Premier League manager shortlisted. Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp was also there after ending Liverpool’s 30-year wait for re-appointment as English champions.

Klopp also led the Reds to the European Super Cup and the World Cup.
These two include FC Bayern München manager Hansi Flick, who led them to another historic treble, Julen Lopetegui from Seville, who won the Europa League last season, and Zinedine Zidane, the boss of Real Madrid, who won the LaLiga won.
And when Bielsa’s performances were compared to the four other nominees, fans thought his comparative achievements did not match.
“I love Bielsa as much as the next guy, but how did he sneak on this list,” wrote one user.
