Those who are not yet convinced of Disney + will be convinced that it is worth the spend thanks to Star.
Later this month, the streaming service will double the number of movies and TV shows currently available on the streaming service.
On February 23, the new titles will be added automatically through the new channel, giving users access to 276 additional films as well as a multitude of popular TV shows from the last few decades.
With these all coming from FX, 20th Century Studios, and 20th Television, Disney + is suddenly becoming more appealing to non-House of Mouse fans.
The additions also coincide with the release of a selection of brand new high profile TV shows. Please see below for more details.
The only downside is that users in the UK, Australia and other areas have to pay a little more to keep their subscription.
Below is all the info on Star and its impact on Disney +, as well as the full list of all new titles coming later this month.

What’s Star on Disney Plus?
In the words of the studio itself, Star on Disney + is a “new general entertainment brand” that is set to benefit from the studio’s 2019 acquisition of Fox. Users can find Star by selecting their Disney + app – it could be referred to as a channel within a channel that fits next to each of the Marvel, Star Wars, Pixar, and National Geographic sections that are currently there.
Star is the result of Disney who wants to share love. After the Fox acquisition, the studio received a slew of titles that would be out of place alongside the kid-friendly titles currently available for streaming. Star is essentially Disney + for the adults.
When will Star be launched in the UK?
Star can be streamed in “selected international markets” from February 23rd. This includes Europe, Canada, Australia and New Zealand. Most of the titles that will appear on Star are already available in the US on Hulu.
How much does Disney Plus cost and do you have to pay extra for Star?
As with all good things, there is one downside – and in the case of Star, it’s a price increase for Disney +. Currently the monthly subscription is £ 5.99. This will go up to £ 7.99. Alternatively, it currently costs £ 59.99 for an annual subscription that increases to £ 79.90 on February 23.
If you already have a subscription, these prices will stay the same through August 23, until the increases take effect. If your subscription is to be renewed between these dates, Disney has assured customers that they will be charged the lower price.
