Jack Grealish and Ross Barkley reportedly broke coronavirus rules in London on Saturday
Villa’s players had the weekend off after the Premier League march against Newcastle last Friday was postponed due to a string of Covid-19 cases in the Magpies’ squad.
It is understood that Grealish and Barkley should have coronavirus tests on Monday morning before the scheduled afternoon training session.
A Villa spokesman said: “After reviewing the footage that was forwarded to us on Saturday, it appears that two of our players who live in Tier 2 areas of the country are visiting a restaurant on Saturday afternoon on a free weekend Eat Tier 2 location. They left the restaurant at 7.45pm. “
