- You will be without an Argentine striker for nine or ten days
Sergio Aguero is unavailable for the Premier League clash in Manchester City and Brighton on Wednesday, manager Pep Guardiola has confirmed.
The Argentine striker missed Sunday’s FA Cup third round win over Birmingham after being asked to isolate himself as close contact with someone who tested positive for Covid-19.
When asked about Aguero at a press conference, Guardiola said: “Quarantine, isolated – the rules. He’ll be back in nine or ten days. ‘

That absence means Aguero will miss three games, Brighton, Crystal Palace and Aston Villa in the Premier League, and he is unlikely to play in the FA Cup the day after isolation ended against Cheltenham Town.
Guardiola added that striker Raheem Sterling, who also missed the 3-0 win over Birmingham, was fit but defenders Aymeric Laporte and Nathan Ake were out.
Guardiola said he wasn’t thinking about the table.
“I’m just worried about Brighton,” he said. “The rest, not even the second on my mind.”

The Manchester City forward has little to offer this season and this is another setback
City is unbeaten in the last 13 games of any competition and has won the last six games as they gained momentum. However, Guardiola is concerned about the threat posed by Brighton.
Guardiola said: “It is a pleasure to watch and analyze them. When you see them, you are concerned about the quality.
“I said to the players,” We have to be of a high standard to play against them. “
