Lionel Messi’s current contract will cost Barcelona € 555million after the end of this summer, El Mundo reported on Sunday.
The four-year contract was signed in 2017 and ends in June of this year, when the 33-year-old can leave for free.
El Mundo says the combination of fixed salary, image rights, variables and the tax that Barcelona had to pay on the contract will rise to € 555,237,619.

Messi has been guaranteed € 138m (£ 122m) gross salary per season under the leaked contract.
The leak is likely to upset Messi’s camp and further destabilize Barcelona as the club faces elections originally scheduled for last week but now postponed to March 7th due to the coronavirus.
It comes days after the club released its 2019-20 financial report, which revealed gross debt of 1.2 billion euros (1 billion pounds).
