Dark Flacko is an artist based in the United States. The rapper has recently received a lot of positive attention due to his tracks. We got the chance to interview him below:
Dark Flacko can you tell us how you was introduced into the music industry?
I was introduced to the music industry when my friend and I were just messing around freestyling over beats. I was always a music person since I was a little baby. After I began writing songs for people but then I realized I can perform and rap to them myself. My friend David and I saved up money to buy music equipment. That’s how I became Dark Flacko.
How do you feel about your music’s popularity?
I feel my music’s popularity is increasing faster than I expected. I believe I deserve to be more popular tho. The reception I’m getting is generally good so far which I love. I hope one day I’ll become mainstream and dominate the charts.
What are your music goals?
My music goals are to make music that a lot of people can relate to. I want my songs and albums to be certified gold or platinum. Collab with some of the most talented artists. Also to become one of the GOATs.
Where do you find your artistic inspiration?
I find my artistic inspiration from mostly music and musicians from 80s. The clothing and the vibes from the 80s just hit different.
Who have been the most influential musicians for you?
The most influential musicians for me have to be Michael Jackson, Playboi Carti, A$AP Rocky, Tame Impala. The list can go on. Those artists break boundaries and are diverse. They motivate to make music more and more. Plus their style and aesthetics are cool as hell.
If you have to choose someone to collaborate with on an EP who would that be and why?
I would want to collab with Playboi Carti bc he’s one of my favorite artists. He hits hella different and he’s different from other rappers which makes him more appealing to me. Him and I would go hard on a songs if you ask me.
What advice would you give to upcoming producers/artists?
My advice to upcoming produce/artists, never let no one or something knock you off your grind. Keep doing you and focus 200% on your goals because trust me you’ll succeed by doing it. Focus on yourself and your music if you want to succeed in the music industry. Follow your heart and always Stay Gleem’n.
