A dinghy with 39 migrants and refugees from Afghanistan and Africa arrived on the coast of Kleio in northern Lesbos early Wednesday.
The migrants / refugees have been sent to a small church outside the village, where they will stay for at least 14 days as part of the measures against the spread of the coronavirus.
Once the quarantine is over, they will be transferred to a closed facility on the mainland as it has already been determined that they are not eligible to apply for asylum under recent Greek legislation.
According to the North Aegean Police, a total of 1,280 migrants and refugees arrived in the northern Aegean islands in March, of which 851 landed on the shores of Lesbos, 415 on Chios and 216 on Samos.
