“I would definitely do this again”: Mike Tyson reveals plans to continue fighting with Roy Jones Jr. in the show match after boxing after 15 years out of the ring
Mike Tyson has announced plans to keep fighting after making an eagerly anticipated return at his Los Angeles draw against Roy Jones Jr.
‘Iron Mike’ stepped back in the ring for the first time in 15 years to compete against great boxing colleague Jones Jr in an eight-round exhibition at the Staples Center. The duo went the route when the fight was tied by the judges.
The couple’s combined age of 105 had some fans split over the event, but 54-year-old Tyson has announced that he would like to get back into the ring upon his return this weekend.

“It’s better than fighting for championships,” Tyson said of the heavyweight show that raised money for various charities. “We are humanists now. We can do something good for the world. We have to do this again. I would definitely do this again. ‘
“I can draw well because I entertained the crowd. The crowd was happy with it. Nobody thought I could do eight laps, but you have to go the distance, that’s boxing. I was very happy to be here, although everyone says I was happy to do eight laps.
“I did this for three minutes. Somehow those two minutes felt like three minutes, ”Tyson admitted. “I’m just glad I got this under my belt and will move on.”
