“It’s a hard blow to us”: Sheffield United boss Chris Wilder has announced that star midfielder Sander Berge will be out “between three and four months” while suspended John Lundstram will leave the Blades for free at the end of the season
- Sander Berge suffered an injury against Manchester United in the first half
- The Norwegian arrived at Bramall Lane in January, replacing John Lundstram
- Lundstram turned down a new contract and will leave for free this summer
Sheffield United boss Chris Wilder said Sander Berge’s absence for “between three and four months” was a “major blow”.
Signed by the Blades for £ 22m from Genk in January, the Norwegian hobbled in the first half of his 3-2 loss to Manchester United last week and has since received an operation on a tendon in his leg.
The South Yorkshire side have yet to book a Premier League win this season and are currently two points and 10 points behind safety.
