Matthew McConaughey suppresses rumors that he turned down the role of Titanic

Matthew McConaughey wants to set the record right above his on-screen test to play Jack Titanic.

It was already rumored that the actor was offered the lead role opposite Kate Winslet, but after refusing it, it was given to Leonardo DiCaprio.

“So I went to read with Kate Winslet and it wasn’t one of the auditions – they filmed it so it was like on-screen test time,” he said. “After we left it was one of those they followed and when we got outside they said, ‘That went great. “I mean, kind of like hugs. I really thought it was going to happen. It didn’t.”

He added, “I asked [James] Cameron about it, because the gossip over the years that I heard and would see about myself was that I had the role in Titanic and refused. Not factual. I was not offered this role. “

McCounaughey joked, “For a while I said, ‘I need to find this agent. You are in trouble. “I never received the offer.”

The deleted scene, which can be seen as an extra on a DVD version of the film first released in 2005, made the rounds on Twitter. Some said it was so bad it looked like a parody.
